Hopeful Horse Trials

June 29, 2019
Sponsored by the Paradise Creek Pony Club

Originally, the Hopeful was a United States Eventing Association recognized horse trial (Palouse Empire Horse Trials). Now we run the Hopeful as an entry level competition, inviting those new to the sport, schooling young horses, or those who just love galloping cross country jumps at Deary a chance to improve their skills.

The Hopeful Horse Trials is a three phase competition. Horse and rider compete in dressage, cross-country jumping, and stadium jumping to earn a final cumulative score. Pony Clubbers and adults come from across the Northwest to participate in this annual event.

Jumping levels vary from Nervous Novice (2'3" maximum height of jumps), Beginner Novice (2'7" maximum height of jumps), Novice (2'11" maximum height of jumps), to Training levels (3'3" maximum height of jumps).

In recent years a Combined Test, that is limited to the Dressage and Stadium phases, and a separate Dressage show have also been added to the Hopeful Schedule.

Concessions are NOT available. Please pre-purchase meals on the entry form.
